Dr. Sabine Huey is a licensed acupuncture and herbal medicine practitioner certified by both the California State Board and the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She is also a certified examiner for the National Acupuncture licensing board on the Clean Needle Technique segment.
She received her Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine degree from the renowned Five Branches University and her Masters degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the American College of Tradition Chinese Medicine in California.
Dr. Huey has extensive experience in out-patient care. Following her highly lauded tenure at the Chinese Hospital here in San Francisco, she decided to focus on the expansion of her private practice implementing her patient-centric integrative care model. She is currently seeing patients at her clinic here in Nob Hill San Francisco .
While completing her internship at the Sutter Health California Pacific Medical Center, Stroke and Neurocritical Care Unit where she provided in-patient acupuncture treatments for patients rehabilitating from stroke and cerebrovascular injuries, she developed a continuing appreciation for the importance of an integrated methodology to patient care and takes that approach to this day.
In addition to the Traditional Chinese Medicine modality,
Dr. Huey has studied Shakuju Therapy under the renowned Dr. Shoji Kobayashi. Shakuju Therapy is a widely accepted Japanese style of acupuncture and moxibustion treatment with focus on treating the root cause of disease by improving life force. She has also trained under the late Dr. Richard Tan on his acupuncture Balance Method, and has continued to advance her study of the Master Tung method under Dr. Michael Chung, who is a disciple with direct lineage to Master Tung.
Dr. Huey specializes in pain management, stress reduction, immune support, insomnia alleviation and improving women's health and wellness; the latter including fertility, pregnancy, postpartum support, facial rejuvenation, and menopausal transition.
Dr. Sabine Huey is an in-network medical provider with United Healthcare insurance and worker's compensation insurances for the City and County of San Francisco.
